Description
Dynamical Systems
** available as of 06/15/2026
Prerequisites: Graduate standing.

Modeling, rigorous analysis, and prediction of short-term and asymptotic behavior of dynamical systems is studied. Continuous-time and discrete-time dynamical systems are considered, and modeled by usually nonlinear differential and difference equations, respectively. Motivation comes from biological, chemical, mechanical, and engineering systems.

Outcomes: Students will be able to model dynamical systems, perform rigorous mathematical analysis of them, and predict their behavior.
