New Venture Lab

Prerequisites: Sophomore standing, grade of C- or higher in ENTR 201.

This course is for students who want to turn a business idea into a viable new venture or grow an existing one. It is intensive, fast-paced, and hands-on, and students will learn to adapt to the uncertainty and ambiguity of entrepreneurship.

Outcomes: Students will learn how to systematically approach your startup/idea to maximize learning and minimize waste; Students will test the core assumptions they have about their business idea and conclude whether the assumptions are valid or not; Students will build a product/service based on what they learn from actual customers rather than what students think is best for the customers; Students will learn from peers' experiences in class and the local startup community.
