The United States Experience
Prerequisites: HONR 101, HONR D101, HONR 102, HONR D102. Restricted to students in the Honors Program

This course examines the formation and development of the United States. Focusing on selected topics, students learn how much is at stake in competing versions of the past. Students read influential political, literary and historical texts. Professors will introduce students to various ways of understanding the United States experience.

Outcomes: Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the various ways in which the distinctive U.S. experience has been presented; Students will learn to use available public sources to conduct research on aspects of the American experience.
