Description
Microbial Pathogenesis of Infectious Disease
The course is focused on teaching students the way bacteria, viruses, fungi, and pathogens, can adhere, invade, replicate, and cause damage and disease in their hosts. The course focuses on the techniques used by researchers to ask questions about these processes.

Prerequisites: BIOL 251 (Cell Biology) and BIOL 282 (Genetics) each with a C or higher.

Outcomes: Students will understand the ways pathogens cause disease, read and review primary literature, and apply techniques used in a grant proposal on a topic of their interest.
