School Social Work Policy and Practice II
Prerequisites: Grade of C or higher in SOWK 500, SOWK 501, SOWK 502, SOWK 503, SOWK 504, SOWK 505, SOWK 509, and SWII 530S; P in SWII 530; or Advanced Standing Students, Advanced Standing Online Students, or 5 Year Social Work Students.
This course is the second of a two-semester course sequence for school social work candidates, which aims to integrate an analytic understanding of the role of school social workers, and appreciation of school social workers' current and historical contributions to K-12 education.
Outcomes: Develop specific skills in assessment and intervention strategies; Apply skills to individuals, groups, and schools; Implement trauma-informed care.
