Field Experience I

This course is designed to provide 200 hours of practical experience working with diverse individuals and populations under the supervision and guidance of a preceptor. Settings may include those which provide cardiac and pulmonary care, physical rehabilitation or sports performance. Required seminars focus on program planning and evaluation, and human and fiscal resource management.

Outcomes: Apply specialized exercise science knowledge and skills by implementing evidence-based interventions within authentic practicum settings; Collaborate effectively within interprofessional teams by integrating diverse professional perspectives to optimize patient/client outcomes; Demonstrate professional engagement through active involvement in planning sessions and team meetings; Evaluate the effectiveness of the exercise science interventions on the individuals or populations served.
