Politics of the Middle East

This course offers a historical and thematic approach to study the society and politics of the contemporary Middle East. Two central aims of the course are to cultivate critical perceptions regarding widespread images and descriptions of the region and to bolster students' historical, socioeconomic and political knowledge of the region.
Outcomes: Students will master important political science literature on the Middle East and be well positioned to pursue original research.
