Bridging Psychodynamic Theory and Cognitive Behavioral Practice
Psychodynamic theory and cognitive-behavioral theory are each associated with methods of intervention that have consistently been found to have therapeutic value for clients with a variety of psychosocial problems.
Prerequisites: Grade of C or higher in SOWK 500, SOWK 501, SOWK 502, SOWK 503, SOWK 504, SOWK 505, SOWK 509, and SWII 530S; P in SWII 530; or Advanced Standing Students or 5 Year Social Work Students.
Outcomes: Students will learn to apply critical thinking to inform and communicate professional judgments using oral and written communication as appropriate to the practice setting.
