Description
Instrumental Analysis
This course discusses and demonstrates how instrumental techniques such as atomic spectroscopy, molecular spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and chemical separations can be used to identify the chemical composition of a sample.

Prerequisites: (CHEM 272 and CHEM 280) or (CHEM 212, CHEM 214, and (CHEM 222 or (CHEM 224 and CHEM 226); and PHYS 112 or PHYS 122; Restricted to Chemistry majors.

Outcomes: Students will be able to select the most suitable analytical method to identify a sample. The hands-on approach will enable students to perform instrumental analysis independently.
