Pedagogy: Theory and Practice
Prerequisite: ENGL 402.
This course is designed to help students integrate theory and practice in teaching literature and cultural studies courses at the college level.
Outcomes: Students will demonstrate an understanding of pedagogical theories by writing a teaching philosophy in which they explain and defend their theoretical approach; students will put their theory into practice by preparing a course proposal for a literature course, which includes a description and goals, syllabus and guidelines, classroom format, and assignments and evaluations procedures.
