The Music of China
This course surveys the broad range of Chinese musical traditions as well as the practice of fieldwork, music theory and methodological issues encountered in Chinese music studies.
Outcomes: Students will identify Chinese musical traditions throughout history and their connections to the Chinese language, history, cultural and religious studies and politics.
