Cuento Hispano-Americano
The development of the Hispanic short story is studies in this course. Authors included are Quiroga, Cortázar, García Márquez, Castellanos, Valenzuela, and Ferré.

Outcomes: Students will be able to contextualize the stories, analyze them both formally and thematically, and recognize the different types of short story written in Latin American: realist, fantastic, folkloric, indigenist, humorous, detective, metaphysical, social protest, feminist, etc.
