Romanticism
Prerequisite: permission of chairperson.
Study of the principle philosophical and esthetic characteristics of romanticism through readings in the major Spanish and/or Latin American romantic authors.
Outcomes: Students will be able to recognize the principle characteristics of romanticism, its foreign influences, and its historical development in a variety of genres, including drama, prose fiction, essay, and poetry.
