Sociology of Deviance & Control
This course is a socio-historical look at definitions of forms of deviant behavior and the identification of individuals as deviant.

Outcomes: The student will learn how history and philosophy shape the definitions of deviant behavior and the methods used to control it; They will develop a sociological imagination to perceive the meaning of deviance beyond the superficialities of today's headlines.
