Occupations and Professions
This course focuses on the structure of paid work in modern society, and its relationship to unpaid work and to self-employment. Special attention is given to the role of skills and knowledge in the structuring of work.

Outcomes: Students will develop an understanding of how both macro and micro factors structure work; from capitalism, industrialism, gender, race and globalization to workplace interaction and culture.
