Psychology of Gender

Prerequisites: ANTH 100, PLSC 102, SOCL 101, WSGS 101, or equivalent; please check requirements for declared majors/minors for exceptions.
This course reviews psychological research and theory concerning gender and sex from a biopsychosocial perspective. Course material emphasizes how gender as an identity, social role, and system of power affects nearly every aspect of our lives.
Outcomes: Students will learn about the diversity of gender within and across cultures, gender socialization and its effects, the role of gender inequality in multiple contexts, and how gender intersects with other identities.
