Electricity and Magnetism I
Prerequisite: PHYS 235, 301 & MATH 264.
Electrostatics and magnetostatics in a vacuum as well as in linear media, and an introduction to electrodynamics.
Outcomes: Students will gain an understanding of mathematical methods of electrodynamics, of static electricity and magnetism including Coulomb's, Gauss', Ampere's, and Faraday's laws and their applications, and of solutions of Laplace's and Maxwell's equations.
