Description
Horace
Prerequisites: LATN 101 and 102 or their equivalents.

This course focuses on selections of the odes, satires and epistles of Horace, set against the backdrop of late Republican and Augustan Rome.

Outcomes: Students should be able to translate the selections of Horace with proficiency, and demonstrate knowledge in detail about the author, his poetry, the various styles he used, as well as deeper understanding and appreciation of the historical, social and intellectual contexts and influences pertaining to them.
