Pliny The Younger
Prerequisites: LATN 101 and 102 or their equivalents.
This course examines the correspondence of the younger Pliny, as well as the political, social, and intellectual context of later Classical Rome and Roman customs in public and private life.
Outcomes: Students should be able to translate these works with proficiency, demonstrate knowledge in detail of the genre, the author and his times, and understand and appreciate the ideas, issues and concerns expressed in the letters.
