Modern Britain: Empire, Industry, Democracy
This course examines political changes in Britain, economic and social causes and consequences of industrialization, and the changing position of Great Britain in Europe and the world.

Outcomes: Students will demonstrate an understanding of the political process of democratization and the global affect of economic change on Britain as evidenced in the extension of voting rights, the growth of Empire, the creation of the Commonwealth and participation in the European Union.
