Course Details

This course centers on Pindar and on ancient Greek lyric poetry more generally, potentially including consideration of additional authors such as Archilochus, Sappho, Alcaeus, and Anacreon.

Outcomes: Students should demonstrate knowledge in detail about the authors, their works, and ancient lyric; They should engage critically with current scholarship relating to ancient lyric's historical, social, literary, and intellectual contexts.
