Greek Lyric Poetry
The subject of this course is ancient Greek lyric poetry involving selections from such as Archilochus, Sappho, Alcaeus, and Anacreon.
Outcomes: Students should be able to translate the selected works with proficiency, demonstrate knowledge in detail about the authors, their poetry, and the various poetic styles they employed, as well as deeper understanding and appreciation of the historical, social and intellectual contexts and influences pertaining to them.
