The Greek Fathers
This course examines the writings of the early church fathers, including such as Athanasius, Basil and John (Chrysostom); it also comprises an introduction to the historical background of Eastern patristic thought.
Outcomes: Students should be able to translate these works with proficiency, demonstrate knowledge in detail of the writings, their authors and their times, and appreciate more deeply the issues and concerns located in these writings.
