Exploring Shakespeare
Prerequisites: UCLR 100, UCLR 100C, UCLR 100E, UCLR 100M, or equivalent; please check requirements for declared majors/minors for exceptions.
This course focuses on the works of Shakespeare as literature and as theatre, covering at least three of the four genres (comedy, history, tragedy, romance).
Outcomes: Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of the theatrical and poetic works of Shakespeare, such elements of drama as plot, character, theme, imagery, and verse forms, as well as the personal, political and theatrical world in which Shakespeare lived and worked.
