Description
The Exceptional Child
This course is an introduction to the concept of exceptionality dealing with the educational implications of atypical child growth and development. Focus is given to the psychology and teaching of culturally diverse and atypical children including those with learning disorders.

Outcomes: Students will have an increased understanding and demonstrate skills in: the connection between civil-rights issues and people with exceptionalities,
and where the field of education has been, is now, and is going with regard to
providing supports for people with special needs, their teachers, and family
members.
