Description
Introduction to Pharmacology
Principles and mechanisms of drug action. Topics discussed include drug-receptor interaction, pharmacokinetics, drug distribution, metabolism, and neuro-transmission, blood-brain barrier, and toxicology.

Prerequisites: BIOL 243, BIOL 251, BIOL 282; CHEM 222 or CHEM 224 or (CHEM 240 pre-req & CHEM 260 co-req).

Outcomes: Students will be able to describe the cellular and molecular mechanisms of action for a variety of the most commonly used drugs in current medical use.
