Description
Developmental Neurobiology
Prerequisites: BIOL 251, BIOL 282, NEUR 101.

This course focuses on cellular and molecular underpinnings of the development of neuronal features of the nervous system. Topics include neural induction and subsequent differentiation events, regulation of neuronal survival, axon guidance, target selection, and synaptogenesis.

Outcomes: Students will become familiar with principles of neural development and the studies that led to those principles; Students will also learn how to critically read primary research papers and present these papers to the class.
