Evolution
Prerequisite: BIOL 282; BIOL 265 recommended.

This course focuses on analysis of processes and patterns of evolution. Topics include population genetic principles, fossil patterns and geologic ages, phylogenetic analysis of relationships of species, experimental approaches to evolutionary questions, and evolutionary perspectives on human biology and relationships.

Outcomes: Students will develop knowledge and awareness of evolutionary processes and patterns, the evidence for them, and how evolutionary hypotheses are tested experimentally; They will develop an appreciation of the primary literature through reading and discussing research articles.
