Description
The course provides an overview of the experiences of various cultural groups with the United States, concerning issues of oppression, identity development, and acculturation, for instance. The course aims to develop multicultural competence by increasing students' awareness, knowledge, and skill base.

Outcomes: Students will increase their awareness of their own cultural background, biases, and world view; Students will increase their knowledge of the world view of culturally diverse clients; Students will begin to develop appropriate interventions strategies to work effectively with diverse populations.
