Description
Prerequisites: UCWR 110 or equivalent; COMP 141 or instructor permission.

This course trains students in free, open-source, and text-based software to support clear, well-organized, accurate, and verifiable writing in academic contexts. The software tool-chain includes Zotero, LaTeX, Pandoc, and Git. Key writing skills are note-taking, information management, and revision.

Outcomes: Students will acquire working knowledge of text-based and open-source software tools to support academic research and writing; Students will create researched arguments that are clear, well-organized, accurate and verifiable.
