Description
This course explores the intersection of music and computing. Topics include sound, digital audio, sampling, synthesis, sequencing, and automation. Students encounter tools and techniques of digital music and data structures for encoding musical thought as well as examples of musical creativity and technological advances resulting from experimentation and interdisciplinary thinking.

Outcomes: Understanding of the physics of musical sound and data structures for digital audio and music; facility with hands-on applications of digital music composition, musicology, sound design.
