Description
Prerequisites: Senior Standing; Restricted to Advertising & Public Relations majors.

Students focus on integrating and applying knowledge and skills related to advertising and public relations. They will research a career interest area, interview working professionals, and create strategic communication portfolio materials. Students gain specialized industry knowledge, improve professional communication competence, and build contacts.

Outcomes: Find, analyze, and synthesize information and prepare an academic research-style paper about a specific advertising or public relations practice and industry that you have the greatest interest in; Describe the professional practice and significant issues in your chosen field; Establish a relationship with professionals who are currently working in the area in which you want to develop a career; Develop a business portfolio (online if possible, IMC plan and work samples) that demonstrates a synthesis of the knowledge, competencies learned in the major and practical application that reflects responsible professional practices.
