Description
The DNP Scholarly Project demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the student's area of expertise in nursing practice. The DNP Scholarly Project is a synthesis of the student's work which provides a faculty-supervised opportunity for demonstration of the use of evidence to improve either practice or patient outcomes. The project forms the basis for future practice scholarship. This 1 SH course focuses on skills necessary for planning a successful DNP scholarly project. Project identification within the student's area of advanced expertise, organizational needs assessment, and outlining the project are emphasized. Skills necessary for the implementation of a successful DNP scholarly project, including collaborative inter-professional team participation and leadership, communication, and methods for project management, are emphasized.

Prerequisite or Corequisite: GNUR 545.

Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, DNP students will apply project management principles in the identification of a feasible DNP Scholarly Project that reflects the student's practice expertise, is evidence-based and grounded in theory.

GNUR 570 REQUIRED synchronous Zoom session dates/times will be as follows: Hello All, GNUR 570 is a five-week course that will run from Monday, June 23rd to Friday, July 25th. Each student enrolled in GNUR 570 must attend attend two REQUIRED synchronous Zoom sessions as follows: Monday, June 23rd: 2pm to 3:30pm (first half of the alphabet: Carter to Magsino) Tuesday, June 24th: 10am to 11:30am (second half of the alphabet: Perez to Weiss) AND Monday, July 21st: 2pm to 3:30pm (first half of the alphabet: Carter to Magsino) Tuesday, July 22nd: 10am to 11:30am (second half of the alphabet: Perez to Weiss) Please be sure to "save the dates" as above!
