Prerequisites: Restricted to Institute of Pastoral Studies students.

Students will explore the foundations for ministry with young people, including the essential components to accompany youth and young adults in developing their identity as missionary disciples. The class will explore Ignatian spirituality as a tool to answer the recurring questions and challenges that shape young people's search for meaning and purpose in life.

Outcomes: Articulate the differences between Youth Ministry, Young Adult Ministry, and Pastoral Juvenil in relation to the cultural and societal shifts affecting young people today, including secularization and disaffiliation; Apply Ignatian spirituality as a tool for discernment and accompaniment in ministry, supporting young people on their spiritual journeys toward developing their identity as missionary disciples; Evaluate current ministry approaches and propose new strategies for engaging youth, young adults, and jóvenes in a multicultural, secularizing world.
