The course surveys academic literature on political institutions in the United States including the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the federal government, state and local governments, parties, interest groups, media organizations, and civic organizations.

Outcomes: Students will gain an in-depth understanding of a wide variety of political institutions and how they interact with one another.
