Description
Prerequisite: Junior or senior standing.

Students explore how cities work through texts, field trips, and guest speakers, and help find solutions to pressing urban issues. They fulfill civic engagement core value requirement.

Outcomes: Students will understand and address inequities in urban communities, and identify avenues of leadership and civic engagement in contemporary cities.

Prerequisite: Junior or Senior standing. This course must be taken with URB 397 for six hours of credit. SOCL/PLSC 335 runs from 2:45 PM-5:15 PM, immediately after URB 397 which runs from 1:40 PM-2:40 PM. Contact Dr. Peter Rosenblatt (prosenblatt@luc.edu) or David Van Zytveld (dvanzyt@luc.edu) for registration. This class must be taken concurrently with URB 397. This class satisfies the Engaged Learning requirement in the Service Learning category.
