Political Theory of Intl Relations
Description
Investigation of selected topics or methods in Political Theory. This course may be repeated depending on subject matter.
Class Notes
The course discusses how our understanding of international relations is partially based on political theories and writings as far back as those of Hobbes, Locke, Kant, Grotius, and Marx. We complement the discussion of these classical writings with some contemporary ones and, mot important, with their practical implications regarding current international developments. The main course requirements involve short (almost) daily postings and writing three papers. The course counts as a "political theory" course for PLSC majors and minors. As much of our discussion will focus on internal law and organizations, the course also fulfills the "International Law" requirement in the Law and Politics minor. The course is taught online, in asynchronous mode.
