This course examines the life of Jesus Christ, utilizing the Gospels, the writings of Paul and other biblical authors, the early ecumenical councils, and the history of church doctrine, including contemporary scholarship.

This online course has three components: (1) course material delivered asynchronously through pre-recorded lectures and assessed through online Unit Quizzes counting for 50% of the course grade, (2) assigned readings supplementing the lectures and engaged through Reading Blogs counting for 30% of the course grade, (3) active engagement with course material through daily small-group synchronous Zoom Discussions (roughly 45 minutes) with the instructor counting for 20% of the course grade. Meeting times for the daily synchronous small-group discussions will be determined in collaboration with students according to their availability during J-Term.
