Description
The purpose of this course is to build on a basic understanding of program budgeting to examine institutional financial strategies; state, and federal institutional funding; and public and financial aid polices that effect who has access to higher education.

Outcomes:
Students should be able to demonstrate observable growth in their ability to:
1. Apply higher education budget fundamentals to gain insight on institutional
financial challenges.
2. Identify and assess the impact of the macro-dimensions of finance and how they
inform campus level dynamics (e.g., budgeting, planning, equity) that complicate
institutional financial decision-making

The class will meet synchronous except for one class that meets on Saturday, 9/27/2025 from 9:00 am-5:00 pm. Class will meet bi-weekly on Thursdays from 8-25-2025 to 10-19-2025. Restricted to HIED-EDD students only.
