This course examines the works of the Attic orator Demosthenes, amid the political and historical context of later Classical Athens.

Outcomes: Students should be able to translate these works with proficiency, demonstrate knowledge in detail of the genre, the author and his times, and understand and appreciate the ideas, issues and concerns expressed in the orations.
