Class Notes
The premise of the class is that faith-based communities can help guide us in breaking through the partisan impasses of today and lead the way in forming new alliances and political relationships in the formulation of public policy. From the prophetic leadership of Moses to the political dynamism of Martin Luther King Jr., societies have historically received inspiration from religious principles and spiritual leaders for social activism and political change. This class will tap into the wellspring of religious thought and practice, past and present, to learn how the wisdom and spiritual convictions of our religious traditions may help us navigate such challenges as housing, labor, gender, immigration, climate change, and racial justice.
