This course was previously offered as FINC 399. Students that took this course as FINC 399 may not repeat this course as FINC 349.
Prerequisite for FINC 349: Minimum grade of "C-" in FINC 334 and Junior Standing.
The class starts with a qualitative discussion and analysis of real estate, both commercial and residential. Students will be introduced to and become familiar with real estate jargon, leases, purchase sell agreements, and closing documents. The class moves to the quantitative section as we delve into time value of money, mortgages, leverage, projections, and more. We will finish the class with a detailed analysis of the derivatives that have been created by and used with real estate investing (CDOs, MBSs, swaps, and more).
