Investigation of selected topics or methods in International Relations. This course may be repeated depending on subject matter.
Class Notes
This class takes a deep dive into the politics and practical aspects revolving around refugees and internally displaced people around the world. Topics include the situations that lead to refugee/IDP crises, legal aspects of the international system in regards to refugees and IDPs, the international politics of refugee/IDP situations, and several case studies of current refugee and IDP situations around the world. Humanitarian crises involving refugees in the developing world, along with political controversies in Europe and the US will be addressed.
