Prerequisite: Junior or senior standing.

Students explore how cities work through texts, field trips, and guest speakers, and help find solutions to pressing urban issues. They fulfill civic engagement core value requirement.

Outcomes: Students will understand and address inequities in urban communities, and identify avenues of leadership and civic engagement in contemporary cities.

Prerequisite: Junior or Senior standing. This course must be taken with URB 397 for six hours of credit. URB 397 runs from 1:40 PM-2:40 PM. SOCL/PLSC 335 runs immediately after from 2:45 PM-5:15 PM. Permission to enroll in the Urban Studies capstone courses should be requested from Urban Studies Director, Dr. Gina Spitz (gspitz@luc.edu) This class satisfies the Engaged Learning requirement in the Service-Learning Category. The class will be held in Granada, Conference Room 420 The instructors are Dr. Brett Coleman and Dr. David Van Zytveld Prerequisite: Junior or Senior standing. This course must be taken with URB/PLSC 397 for a total of six hours of credit. Contact Dr. Peter Rosenblatt or David Van Zytveld for registration. This course meets in Granada Center Room 420.
