Class Notes
This course constitutes an introduction to the seven world religious traditions of Asia through religious studies methodologies that culminate in an engaged learning project/paper. The project involves visiting a religious site, interviewing people and presenting your findings in the Loyola Symposium. This course will cover a new religion every week and will generally cover the major points of history, doctrine, philosophy, rituals, ethics and scripture of those traditions. Since this is a once a week class, each class period will have a lecture component, media, in class reflections, group presentations and discussion. This class satisfies the Engaged Learning requirement in the Undergraduate Research category.
