Prerequisites: BIOL 251 and BIOL 282

Lecture and laboratory. Fundamental concepts of microbial life, physiology, and metabolism.

Outcomes: Students will learn the differences between the 3 domains of life and will comprehend the biochemistry, morphology, growth characteristics, structure and ecology of microbes.
