Description
This course examines cases and issues in constitutional, statutory, and regulatory law affecting print and electronic media including First Amendment rights, libel, privacy, copyright and trademarks, Freedom of Information, and telecommunication regulations.

Prerequisites: COMM 175 or COMM 201; EVCM minors are waived from pre-requisites.

Outcomes: Students will be able to understand major legal precedents affecting current media communication and recognize their impact on professional practices in print, electronic media and the Internet.
