Class Notes
This course will introduce students to the academic study of Christian theology through a number of different lenses, including the Jewish and Christian scriptures, the history of Christianity, and the way these texts and traditions challenge (and are challenged by) the contemporary world. In this course we will focus on the narrative of God¿s interaction with and redemption of humanity, especially as this plays out in the writings of the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament, and the history of the Church. Specific emphasis will be placed on the historic Christian creeds as a skeletal framework for fleshing out specific and substantive developments within Christian theology.
